Mixed Textures | Tapestry, Cashmere, Denim, Leather and Silk

Blue tapestry coat, red tote, grey boots, silk scarf
Is there any texture I haven't added to this outfit...? I think I have them all with tapestry, cashmere, denim, leather and silk. I'm still loving my La Redoute tapestry coat and I haven't worn these grey mock-suede knee high boots in aaages (last seen here); the soft blues and greys are offset really nicely by the bright cherry red of my tote bag. I'll be rather sorry when it's too warm to wear this coat in fact, that's how much I love it.

What really finished off this outfit, however, was the beautiful silk scarf from Siladora - a limited edition of 100 with a print inspired by Pacific seascapes. If you scroll down a few pictures you can see more of the stunning print: it's quite, quite beautiful - and oh, those colours! Siladora describe their concept as a "creative collaboration; an art to fashion concept". They work with artists to create unique and beautiful pieces, and I'm always attracted to brands like this. I love scarves of all different fabrics but there is something really quite special about a large silk scarf, especially when it unfolds to a mini work of art.

The scarf's soft colours were picked out by the grey of the boots and the soft green of my earrings - and just to get really clever the red in the scarf was echoed both by the red bag and the piping in the lining of my coat. I'd like to say it was all planned but to be honest the red piping in the coat was a total surprise while we were taking the photos, and the bag was already in use but was still the perfect choice.

Do you ever surprise yourself with how you've unknowingly coordinated an outfit? Or do you own any silk scarves (vintage or modern) that are a bit more special than your everyday printed ones? Do share in the comments!
